MANILA, Philippines — In an advisory, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said that those whose applications fall on Dec. 29 or Jan. 2 may reschedule their appointments anytime from Jan. 5 to Feb. 16, except on weekends and holidays.
This change in schedule applies to all DFA consular offices nationwide, including the headquarters in Aseana, Parañaque City.

For those with scheduled issuance of passports on Dec. 29 and Jan. 2 at the DFA’s passport releasing center at DoubleDragon Meridian Park, the department said affected individuals can expect the release of passports “on the next available working day.”
New dates
Meanwhile, those with appointments for authentication of documents on Dec. 29 and Jan. 2 will have their new schedule sometime between Jan. 5 and Feb. 4.
The suspension of services at DFA offices is in line with Memorandum Circular No. 111 signed by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto. The two more days of suspended government work are meant to allow public employees to have an uninterrupted vacation break in celebration of New Year’s Day. /cb
