PITX logs 157,000 passengers as of Sunday evening, official says

MANILA, Philippines — As there are only four days before Christmas, over 157,000 passengers flocked to the Parañaque Integrated Exchange Terminal (PITX) to visit their provinces or return to Metro Manila.

In a Viber message, PITX Senior Corporate Affairs Officer Kolyn Calbasa, the passenger count in one of the major terminal hubs in the country reached 157,070 as of 6 p.m. This figure is slightly higher than the 156,037 recorded during the same period on Saturday.

PITX earlier said that the terminal is expecting over 3 million passengers from December 19, 2025 to January 5, 2026, for Christmas and New Year. Calbasa earlier said that the passenger count reached 186,231 and 200,153 for December 19 and December 20, respectively.

With this, PITX said that it activated its “Holiday Transport Plan” “to ensure safe and reliable trips during the peak season.”

The terminal hub said that this initiative, with expanded customer assistance and enhanced security, is in coordination with the Department of Transportation, Land Transportation Office, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, Philippine National Police, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, and transport operators. /mr
