DepEd starts releasing year-end incentive for 1 million employees

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education will begin releasing year-end incentives to its personnel following a directive from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., covering the service recognition incentive, productivity enhancement incentive, collective negotiation agreement incentive, and gratuity pay for contract-based workers.

The incentive package will cover around one million DepEd employees nationwide. Teachers and nonteaching personnel will receive a P20,000 service recognition incentive and a P5,000 productivity enhancement incentive, while eligible nonteaching staff will get an additional P10,000 CNA incentive. Contract of service and job order workers will receive gratuity pay of up to P7,000, depending on the length of service.

Guided by an issuance from the Department of Budget and Management, DepEd said the service recognition incentive will be released in tranches, with the initial payout scheduled this December. The first tranche will range from at least P10,000 to P14,500 per eligible employee, with the balance to be released upon approval of the request for modification of allotments.

Eligible recipients of the service recognition incentive include DepEd personnel holding regular, contractual, and co-terminus appointments in central, regional, division, and school offices.

“We are grateful to the teachers and personnel of the DepEd who continue to run our educational system,” Education Secretary Sonny Angara said. “You are the reason we have a big budget for education, and it’s our goal that it will result in results and services that you deserve.”

DepEd said the productivity enhancement incentive will be released separately to eligible personnel in line with Executive Order No. 201, which mandates the grant to help improve productivity in government service and is given on top of other bonuses and incentives.

Gratuity pay will also be released to DepEd workers engaged under contract of service and job order arrangements, with amounts ranging from P4,000 to P7,000 depending on the length of service during the year. The releases will be handled by the central and regional offices based on their respective arrangements.

In addition, DepEd will grant a P10,000 CNA incentive to eligible nonteaching personnel with regular, contractual, and co-terminus appointments. While funds will be set aside within the year, the release of the CNA incentive is scheduled for January 2026.

Angara said the incentives are part of ongoing efforts to recognize the work of teachers and staff in the public school system, while ensuring that releases comply with approved budget limits and budget management policies.
