CITE holds graduation rites, stress management seminar

THE Center for Industrial Technology and Enterprise (CITE) held its 19th commencement exercises on June 9  for the 262 graduates of the 3-year Industrial Technician program at the Cebu Doctors’ University auditorium.

The ceremony was attended by the members of Board of Trustees David Reyes, Col. Alejandro Escaño and Engr. Emilio Borja, management staff headed by executive director Ruben Laraya and scholarship grantors.

During the conferment of diplomas, the parents were recognized for attending the Education for Development Series for three years, the entire duration of the course.

Students Dariel Lauron, Julito Estelloro, Aram Jared Pagat and Kim Francisco were awarded certificate of recognition for their academic excellence.

The best in technology awards were conferred on Sergey Joromat (mechanical technology), Dariel Lauron (electromechanics technology), Karl Albert Ambray (Information Technology-networking), and James Michael Laran (Information Technology-multimedia).

Aniano Ancajas Jr., CITE alumnus and regional winner of 2006 Ramon Magsaysay Outstanding Filipino Worker Award for Wage Employed, delivered an inspirational message to the graduates. After his speech, Ancajas serenaded the audience with a Josh Groban hit.

Eighty-five percent of the graduates were assured of employment by CITE’s industry partners.

Meanwhile, the faculty and staff of CITE participated in the coaching and stress management seminar last June 11.

Dr. Andrew Carreon, a cardiologist, gave pointers on effective stress management, like breathing exercises, to avoid heart disease.

In the afternoon, Dr. Carreon conducted a learning session on coaching, with emphasis on the GROW (goals, reality, opportunity, way forward) platform.

Dr. Carreon introduced life coaching that will facilitate students in their personal and academic life.

Dr. Carreon works at both St. Lukes Medical Center and Cardinal Santos Hospital.
