Ex-Air Force general CAAP chief for 10 days
President Benigno Aquino has appointed former Philippine Air Force commanding general William Hotchkiss III as director general of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines—at least for the next 10 days.
Hotchkiss’ appointment as member of the CAAP board of directors and as the agency’s director general is only for a term lasting until the end of the month on June 30, 2012, completing the unexpired term of CAAP Director General Ramon Gutierrez.
Undersecretary Abigail Valte, Mr. Aquino’s deputy spokesperson, said Hotchkiss was subject to reappointment.
She did not say why Gutierrez was replaced before his term ended.
