40 families displaced in Taguig fire
MANILA, Philippines – Around 40 families were displaced and roughly P5-million worth of property was destroyed after fire gutted a residential-commercial area in Taguig City Tuesday, a city fire officer said.
Fire Officer 1 May Mirabueno said about 20 establishments along Daang Hari in Taguig City were destroyed in the fire that was tapped in at 11:35 a.m.
“The figure is a mix of residential and commercial establishments,” she said.
While the cause of fire is yet to be determined, Mirabueno said initial investigation showed that the blaze may have started from the house of a certain Michaela Cabugon along Road 1 North Daang Hari.
The fire reached Task Force Bravo before it was declared out at 1:13 p.m., she said.
