Robredo doubts Arab journalist’s team held hostage

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo on Tuesday said Jordanian journalist Baker Abdulla Atyani and his two Filipino companions might not have been taken hostage by the Abu Sayyaf after all.

Robredo said Atyani’s Filipino crew – Ramelito Vela and Rolando Letrero— were in constant contact with their employers.

“Apparently, they are not under duress,” he said.
