MANILA, Philippines – Marikina City Mayor Del de Guzman said the city has been doing its disaster-preparedness mechanisms to prepare its people from any calamity.
De Guzman told Radyo Inquirer on Tuesday that concerned officials and residents were undergoing seminars on disaster preparedness headed by the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC).
The city, he said, was also maximizing the use of alarm systems to alert citizens on the flood levels.
De Guzman commended the residents of Marikina for helping the city recovered from the aftermath of typhoon “Ondoy.”
“Nakatulong doon ng malaki yung mga mamamayan mismo. Merong mga non-government organizations na gumastos at nagbigay ng moral support,” he said.
