Farmer’s wife needs help
For 67-year-old Leonila Saquing, it is never too late to take on a healthy lifestyle.
An outpatient of the Philippine General Hospital, Saquing came to the Inquirer to seek medical assistance for various illness affecting her gall bladder, kidney and eyes.
She has one simple wish: to be able to return to her province to enjoy what she calls “nature’s bounty” in Cagayan Valley.
Saquing, a farmer’s wife, was told by her attending doctors to undergo an operation on her gall bladder that had been a source of her discomfort and pain.
“My attending physician at PGH told me to ready some P30,000 for this operation. For my kidney problem, I was told to come up with P60,000, and another P20,000 for my eye operation,” said the Tuguegarao City native.
The mother of two said she also used to plant rice and vegetables in her hometown before moving in with a daughter in Bulacan province who lived near a government hospital where she could have regular checkups.
