Henares, de Lima still undecided on Chief Justice post

MANILA, Philippines – Two top officials of the Aquino government remained undecided on whether or not to accept their nomination to the Chief Justice position.

“No, I haven’t decided yet,” Bureau of Internal Revenue Commissioner Kim Jacinto-Henares said in a text message on Monday, the last day of submission and acceptance of nomination for the  top post in  the Supreme Court.

Justice Secretary Leila De Lima, on the other hand, said she has not yet spoken to President Benigno Aquino III.

“I have several hours to decide. I have not yet spoken to the President,” DeLima told reporters in a chance interview.

De Lima and Henares were among the 26 nominated for the top judicial post.
