Construction worker killed after being hit by crane in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines—A construction worker died after he was hit by a crane in Libis, Quezon City, on Tuesday, police said.

Quezon City Police Station 12 commander Superintendent Limuel Obon identified the fatality as Rozel Lotino, 29. The victim was working on the 19th floor of a building being constructed in Eastwood at around 11:30 a.m. when “workers lost control of a crane, which was lifting a bucket of concrete mixture.”

“There were many workers on that floor but only Lotino got pinned to the post he was working on,” Obon said.

Obon added that Lotino was rushed to the Quirino Hospital but that he died eventually.
