No cause for alarm after 6.0-magnitude quake – Phivolcs

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the public should not be alarmed of the earthquake that hit Zambales and other several areas in Metro Manila Sunday morning.

Phivolcs science research specialist Erlinton Olavere told Radyo Inquirer 990AM on Monday that the magnitude 6.0 movement at 6:18 a.m.  Sunday was just “normal” which should not cause fear to people.

“Walang dapat ipangamba ang mga tao dito .  Normal pong nangyayari ito talaga,” said  Olavere.

Intensity 4 hit Candelaria, Sta. Cruz, Masinloc, Subic and Iba, Zambales; Dagupan City, Bugallon, Villasis and Bolinao, Pangasinan; and Makati City while Intensity 3 was felt by residents in Quezon City.
