2 dead in Rizal town fire

LUCENA CITY – Two women died on Wednesday in a fire that gutted their house in Antipolo City, Rizal province.

The Police Region 4-A said in a report that the blaze of still unknown origin struck the residence of the victims, identified as “Marieta,” 68, and “Catherine,” 28, in Barangay San Roque at 8 p.m.

The fire quickly spread to at least 20 other houses and was put out by firefighters two hours later.

Both victims were found dead inside the comfort room of their residence.

Investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire./coa
