Memphis beats Hawks

MEMPHIS-BLUE stopped the three-game win streak of league leader Hawks-Yellow, 74-72 last Sunday in Division C of the Talisay Balik Basketball Association (TBA)-2011 inter-color tournament at the Talisay Sports Complex.

It was a close match all throughout with several deadlocks and lead changes. Then at 72-all with 54 seconds remaining, Hayes Restauro canned a short jumper that gave Memphis-Blue the two-point win.

Memphis and Hawks share the lead with identical 3-1 cards.

Restauro led Memphis-Blue with 14 points while Flor Yosores paced Hawks-Yellow with 15 markers.

FEATURED STORIES

Earlier, CJ Optical-White drubbed Magic-Red, 70-54 for its 2nd win in five games while Magic fell to 2-2.

Cardit Echavez and Dennis Reyes led CJ Optical-White with 13 and 12 points, respectively, while Allan Enrile paced Magic with 12 points.

Meanwhile, in the Legend Division, Miami-Red routed Yokohama-Yellow, 80-51 for its third straight win while Yokohama fell to 1-2.

Rene Cabrera topped Miami-red with 27 points while Danny Cabasa and Ehing Cañizares paced Yokohama with 19 and 16 points, respectively.
