Fire hits DPWH office in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines — A fire broke out at the office of Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Quezon City on Wednesday, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection – National Capital Region (BFP-NCR).

In an initial report, the BFP-NCR said that the incident occurred at the DPWH – Bureau of Research and Standards building located on National Irrigation Administration road along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue in Barangay Pinyahan, Quezon City.

BFP-NCR said that the first and second alarms were raised at 12:50 p.m. and 12:51 p.m., respectively. The third alarm was reached at 12:56 p.m.
The fire was declared under control at 1:34 p.m. while it was eventually extinguished at 1:49 p.m.
No other details have been provided by the BFP-NCR.
The Inquirer reached out to the DPWH for a statement but has yet to reply as of this writing. /jpv
