UNBEATEN Park n’ Go Bakeshop dismantled Utility Assurance Corporation (UTASSCO), 111-98, Tuesday night to advance to the championship round of the 2nd President’s Cup-2012 summer basketball tournament at the Emilio Jaca Memorial gym.
Park n’ Go will face Water Market in the title duel after the latter crushed Ang Tibay Mo, 136-93.
The winner-take-all finals is slated next month in time for the club’s 25th anniversary celebration.
The Breadmakers led by a single-digit in the opening half, before padding its advantage to 16 points, 70-54, going to the fourth quarter where it settled for the 13-point win.
Power-forward Wewe Cabrera topped the scoring chart for Park n’ Go with a game-high 30 points spiked with eight triples while Erik Abatayo and Adot Tabar combined for 35 markers.
High-leaping Alex Mercado and Flor Yosores paced Utassco with 22 and 20 points, respectively.
Earlier, Water Market pulverized Ang Tibay Mo, 136-93, by far the biggest winning margin in the tourney.
Former SWU Cobras pointguard Michael Arias led Water Market with 39 points while team skipper Vez Eleguin and Caloy Lim added 26 and 22 points, respectively.
Former SIT slotman Jun Sumargo paced Ang Tibay Mo with 30 points with Cesar Gaviola and Hermes Abasolo combining for 34 markers.
