TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines—A 4.2- magnitude earthquake was felt in Eastern Samar early yesterday.
The epicenter was located 28 kilometers northeast of Dolores town, according to Bobby Cañete of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) station in Palo, Leyte.
Cañete said quake occurred past 1 a.m. on Tuesday.
The Phivolcs did not receive any report of damage caused by the earthquake, he added.
Cañete said the quake, which has a depth of 20 kilometers, was tectonic in origin with the source traced to the Philippine Trench.
Tuesday’s was the 11th quake felt in Eastern Visayas since the start of the year.
