Senator Lacson ready to prove ‘Jose Pidal’ is not Congressman Iggy Arroyo

MANILA, Philippines—Senator Panfilo Lacson said on Monday that he was ready to prove that Negros Occidental 5th District Representative Ignacio “Iggy” Arroyo is not “Jose Pidal.”

Lacson told reporters at Camp Crame that it is about time to put closure to the issue.

He said that he had new pieces of evidence that would reveal the true identity behind the Jose Pidal accounts.

However, Lacson said that while it is not Iggy, “Jose Pidal” comes from the Arroyo family.

In 2003, Lacson claimed that then First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo kept multimillion-peso secret bank accounts under the name of Jose Pidal. His younger brother Iggy insisted that he owned the bank accounts.—Frances Mangosing
