A YEAR before the 2013 elections, the son of Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile has started making his rounds to announce his political plans.
Rep. Juan “Jack” Enrile Jr. of the 1st District of Cagayan was in Cebu and met with the barangay captains.
The Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile who accompanied his sons also asked for support from the Cebu City barangay leaders.
During the meeting, the younger Enrile announced that he will be running for senate in next year’s elections.
Jack promised to do his best to preserve the good legacy of his father in the Philippine Senate if he will be given the chance.
On the recent impeachment, Sen. Enrile said he is proud that the Senate of the Philippines maintained its dignity by standing by the law and delivering genuine justice after all the necessary investigation.
Sen. Enrile also said he believes that the Pres. Benigno Simeon Aquino III should be given the freedom to choose the next Chief Justice.
But for him, the next chief of the judiciary should be someone who has never been identified with any political personality. /Correspondent Sean Timothy Salvador
