3 dead in Bukidnon landslide

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — Three persons were confirmed dead when a landslide hit a road in the hinterland village of Lumbayao in Valencia City in Bukidnon at 7 a.m. Monday.

Major Eugene Osias, spokesperson of the military’s 4th Infantry Division, said government troops have been digging at the landslide site where more people were feared buried.

The site, some 40 minutes (not kilometers) from the city proper, is located along the road.

Osias said troops in San Fernando town near the landslide area were ordered to pool their resources to help in the search and rescue operations.
