Marcos leads Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program rites

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday led the national culmination activity of Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program.
In his speech, Marcos highlighted the significance of the program, which is aimed at assisting learners in improving their reading skills and providing financial support to college students and parents.

“A program that addresses the problem of education and provides income to college students and parents. Thought out and implemented with care and love for others, especially our youth,” Marcos said in his speech at the University of Makati in Taguig City.
“This is the spirit of the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program. This is the true spirit of public service. The success of Tara, Basa! is the result of unity,” he added.
The program has reached 348,000 Filipinos in need of learning support in two years, said Marcos.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development launched the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program in July 2023 in the National Capital Region and later expanded it to 11 other regions. /gsg
