Group disrupts Roxas’ speech in Cavite

MANILA, Philippines – A group of youth shouting “pekeng kalayaan” (fake independence) disrupted the speech of  Department of Transportation and Communication Secretary Mar Roxas  during Independence Day celebration in Kawit, Cavite, Radyo Inquirer 990AM reported Tuesday.

Kawit Police Chief Inspector Mamerto Malubay said the unidentified group consisted of seven to eight students who went to the rites without streamers, mixed in with the crowd and started shouting their chant.

Malubay said the police did not make any arrests and just asked the members of the group to peacefully leave the area.
