The PDP-Laban has invited veteran politician Antonio Cuenco and City Council Jose Daluz III to join the party.
Cuenco said he was offered the chairmanship of the party in Central Visayas and Daluz is being considered for Cebu City chairman.
“But I will have to think about their offer. I will have to discuss this with Mayor Mike Rama because I do not want my plans with PDP-Laban to collide with his plans with LP,” Cuenco told Cebu Daily News.
Rama is a member of the administration Liberal Party.
Cuenco and former radio personality Inday Nita Cortes -Daluz, councilor Daluz’ mother, were active members of the PDP Laban founded by former senate president Aquilino Pimentel.
Mayor Rama said that he does not see any problems in Cuenco’s joining PDP-Laban. Rama said he will remain with the administration’s Liberal Party “unless the president won’t like me anymore.”
“What is important is that we have unity in the local level,” said Rama.
Would Rama want to join PDP-Laban if LP chooses south district Rep. Tomas Osmeña sa their Cebu City candidate in next year’s election?
Rama said he could not give a categorical reply to that. Doris C. Bongcac and Jhunnex Napallacan
