Quarry operator slain in Nueva Ecija gun attack

BONGABON, Nueva Ecija — A 45-year-old quarry operator was gunned down by an unidentified assailant in Barangay Lusok here around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, police reported.

The victim was identified as Ronaldo Emiterio, a resident of Barangay Platero, Gen. Mamerto Natividad, Nueva Ecija.

Initial investigation showed Emiterio was driving a pickup truck when a gunman opened fire with a 5.56mm rifle, killing him on the spot.

The assailant fled toward an unknown direction, police said, adding that a manhunt and investigation are ongoing to identify and arrest the suspect./coa
