A fourth straight win came handily for the B-Meg Llamados as they trounced the lowly Air21 Express, 91-78, last night in their out-of-town duel of the 37th PBA Governors’ Cup at the Davao del Sur Coliseum in Digos City.

The Llamados pulled away in the second half, exposing the Express’ lack of firepower with their stingy defense that limited Air21 to just 31 points in the final two quarters.

Air21 had their game going in the first half and took a surprising 47-44 lead at the turn.

B-Meg clamped down on defense in the third and Air21 didn’t know what hit them, scoring just 13 points in the period that allowed the Llamados to go on cruise control.

The Llamados turned a three-point halftime deficit into a 71-60 lead going to the fourth.

The lead ballooned to as many as 17 points in the fourth and the Llamados went on to seal their fourth win in five games, tying the the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters at the top of the standings.

Workhouse import Marqus Blakely spearheaded the Llamados by putting up a solid all-around performance as he finished with 21 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots.

The inability to come up with a balanced production once again did the Express in.

Air21 went exclusivle to import Zach Graham, who scored at least 30 points for the fourth straight game. He finished with a game-high 41 points and 11 rebounds, big numbers that went down the drain as Air21 suffered its third loss in four outinngs.

The Express managed to put up a decent fight early in the game when Graham scored 22 points in the first half alone.

Meanwhile, action resumes today at the Araneta Coliseum with a pair of double-header.
