Rotarians cite Randy David

MANILA, Philippines—Inquirer columnist Randy David has been named Opinion Writer of the Year by the Manila Rotary Club.

Club president Banit Caasi, awards committee chair Babe Romualdez and vice chair and vice president Frank Evaristo announced the other winners this year: Rico Hizon, BBC World News presenter and reporter, Broadcast Journalist of the Year; Amy Pamintuan of the Philippine Star, Print Journalist of the Year; SunStar Cebu, Community Newspaper of the Year; Philippine Star, Newspaper of the Year; dzMM, Radio Station of the Year, and TV5, TV Station of the Year.

The awards will be presented on June 14 at noon at the Manila Polo Club in Makati City.

The Manila Rotary journalism awards committee is composed of, aside from Romualdez and Evaristo, Susing Pineda, Fausto Preysler and former Press Secretary Rod Reyes as honorary adviser.
