Tropical Depression Huaning exits PAR

MANILA, Philippines — Tropical depression Huaning exited the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Tuesday morning, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In its latest update, Pagasa said Huaning left PAR at 5 a.m.

As a result, the weather bureau no longer monitors any cyclone inside the PAR.

As of 8 a.m., the tropical depression was 840 kilometers northeast of extreme northern Luzon outside PAR, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts up to 70 kph. It was moving north-northwestward at 45 kph.

Meanwhile, Pagasa is also monitoring a low-pressure area (LPA) outside the PAR, last located 1,675 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas.

Pagasa said the LPA still has a “medium” chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

The tropical depression and LPA have no direct effect on any parts of the country.

But the easterlies, or the warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, are forecast to bring a high chance of rain to most areas on Tuesday. /apl/abc
