4 hurt in Tondo explosion

MANILA, Philippines — Four individuals were injured in an alleged explosion in Tondo, Manila on Sunday afternoon, according to the Manila Police District (MPD).
The MPD said that the incident happened around 2:30 p.m. along Tayuman Street at its intersection with Dagupan Street in Barangay 234 in Tondo, Manila.
An initial investigation conducted noted that the person interviewed, barangay councilman Nino Cervantes, said that the victims dismantled an unknown object that eventually triggered the explosion.

The MPD added that the crime scene investigation revealed that the object was an air conditioner compressor.
“All injured victims [were] brought to Tondo General Hospital and Jose Reyes Hospital by ambulance of Cong Valeriano and by MDRRMO [Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office],” the report said, referring to Manila 2nd District Rolan Valenciano. /das
