Marcos thanks, hails OFWS in Sona 2025

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. thanked and priased overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in his fourth State of the Nation Address (Sona) Monday afternoon.
“Nagpapasalamat tayo sa ating magigiting na mga OFW. Dahil sa kanila, naipamamalas ang angking galing, kabutihan, at puso ng Pilipino—sa lahat ng sulok ng daigdig,” he said.
(We are grateful to our brave overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). Because of them, the skill, kindness, and heart of the Filipino are showcased in every corner of the world.)

The personal remittances from OFWs grew by 2.6 percent to US$3.02 billion, or more than P171 billion, in February 2025, up from the US$2.95 billion, or P167 billion, registered in February 2024, according to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. /gsg
