Man killed, 2 others wounded by dog-loving biker

A man was killed while two others were wounded in Quezon City after they were shot by a man who had angrily demanded that they return his dogs. John-john Pingol died at Quezon City General Hospital around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, some two hours after the shooting.

Jovet Candelario, 19; and Melchor Aguilar received treatment for their injuries even as the police said they had yet to identify the gunman.

Case investigator Senior Police Officer 1 Joselito Gagaza said the shooting took place at the corner of Jupiter Street and Congressional Avenue in Barangay (village) Bahay Toro, Quezon City.

Candelario told the police that he and the other victims were walking on the street when a man on a bike passed by, shouted, “Return my dogs” and then fired upon them. The still unidentified biker then fled.

Gagaza said they were investigating reports that the three victims allegedly stole two dogs from a resident. Police recovered 10 empty shells and two deformed slugs from a .45-cal. gun from the scene. Julie M. Aurelio
