De Castro said two gunmen apparently waited for Paras to come home.

One of the suspects, later identified as Eugene Bacoto, 25, of Dasmariñas City, Cavite, was wounded in an exchange of gunfire between the suspects and Paras and his driver. Police could not say, though, whether the bullet that hit Bacoto came from Paras or his driver’s gun.
