Orange rainfall warning raised over Zambales, Bataan

MANILA, Philippines — An orange rainfall warning is raised over the provinces of Zambales and Bataan due to the continued effect of the enhanced southwest monsoon, or locally known as habagat, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Wednesday morning.
In its 8 a.m. heavy rainfall warning, the Pagasa said the two provinces may experience between 15 and 30 millimeters (mm) of rainfall within the next three hours.
The weather bureau warned that “flooding is still threatening” under the orange rainfall warning.
Metro Manila and six areas in Luzon are placed under the yellow warning level, where 7.5 to 15 mm of rain is expected within the next three hours.

Flooding is still possible in flood-prone areas, said the Pagasa.

The Pagasa noted that light to moderate rain with occasional heavy rain is expected over Nueva Ecija within the next three hours.

In a separate advisory at 5 a.m., Pagasa said Tropical Depression Dante may reach the tropical storm category within the next 12 hours.
Dante was last spotted 880 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon.
The tropical depression maintained its strength, packing a maximum sustained wind speed of 55 kilometers per hour (km/h) and gustiness of up to 70 km/h, while moving northwestward at 25 km/h. /cb/mcm
