House suspends work on July 23 due to bad weather
MANILA, Philippines — Work at the House of Representatives was declared suspended on Wednesday due to bad weather, Secretary General Reginald Velasco said in a memorandum.
Velasco on Tuesday said that offices with essential functions are tasked to ensure that the delivery of services remain unimpeded.
“In view of the inclement weather, work in the House of Representatives shall be suspended on July 23, 2025. However, offices with essential functions shall ensure that all services remain unimpeded,” Velasco said.
“The House leadership will continue to take measures to safeguard the welfare of our employees,” he added.
This is the third straight day that the House suspended its work due to heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon or habagat. On Monday, the House leadership decided to suspend work by 4 p.m., to allow employees to leave earlier.
Work was then suspended for Tuesday.
