MANILA, Philippines — The expanded number coding scheme remains suspended for Wednesday, July 23, due to the inclement weather, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Tuesday.
“Nananatiling suspendido ang pagpapatupad ng number scheme bukas, July 23, 2025 sa gitna pa rin ng masamang panahong nararanasan sa Metro Manila,” the MMDA said in an advisory.

The number coding scheme has been suspended for three consecutive days due to the heavy rains in Metro Manila.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) placed Metro Manila, Rizal, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga, and parts of Bulacan and Batangas under the orange rainfall warning as of 8 p.m.
Under this warning, the areas may experience between 15 to 30 millimeters of rainfall within the next three hours.
Meanwhile, the Pagasa said that the low pressure area east of Aurora developed into a tropical depression on Tuesday afternoon. It noted that Tropical Depression Dante was formed at around 2 p.m.

In its 5 p.m. weather bulletin, Pagasa said that Dante was last spotted 1,130 kilometers east of Northern Luzon, and was moving north-northwestward at 20 kilometers per hour (km/h). The tropical depression was also packing maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h and gustiness of up to 55 km/h.
