Local authorities have suspended in-person classes and on-site work in both public and private schools at all levels in Iriga City, Camarines Sur, starting Thursday, July 17, 2025, due to heavy rains and potential flooding brought by Tropical Depression Crising and the enhanced southwest monsoon. IRIGA CITY, Camarines Sur — Local authorities have suspended in-person classes and on-site work in both public and private schools at all levels in this city starting Thursday due to heavy rains and potential flooding brought by Tropical Depression Crising and the enhanced southwest monsoon.

Mayor Rex Oliva said he issued the memorandum order after consultations with the Department of Education (DepEd)-Iriga.

“It will remain in effect until lifted, and schools have been directed to adopt modular or alternative learning methods to ensure the continuity of education,” he said.

Parents and guardians have been advised to immediately pick up their children from schools. Elementary pupils will not be allowed to leave the school premises unless accompanied by or fetched by a parent or guardian.
