MANILA, Philippines–The Supreme Court (SC) has launched an investigation into information that an individual connected to the missing “sabungeros” case is attempting to exert undue influence over members of the judiciary.
SC Spokesperson Atty. Camille Sue Mae Ting confirmed that they have already received initial information from the Department of Justice (DOJ).
“It is the policy of the Court to receive and act on credible reports of corruption, including those coming from high-ranking government officials such as the Secretary of Justice,” Ting said in a statement.
She pointed out that the SC treats all information it receives with “utmost seriousness” and is committed to conducting an “independent and thorough investigation.”
Remulla earlier said the high court has already begun its investigation into the alleged fixer linked to the judiciary.
“Actually, the Supreme Court is already investigating,” Remulla said in a media interview, disclosing that he had spoken with a justice about the matter earlier that day.

In a recent radio interview, Julie “Dondon” Patidongan claimed the “fixer,” an ex-judge, holds a high-ranking post in the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and enjoys continued protection from other top officials.
Remulla hinted that the scope of the investigation extends beyond the judge, citing irregular behavior “that is not good for the justice system.”
The high court urged the public to remain vigilant and report any form of corruption within the judiciary.
“Actionable information or evidence may be sent directly to integrity@judiciary.gov.ph,” Atty. Ting concluded./coa
