Opening of classes, generally peaceful, orderly—DepEd Asec Mateo

MANILA, Philippines—On the third day of the opening of classes, Department of Education Assistant Secretary Jesus Mateo said everything has been orderly and peaceful.

“There were a few calls regarding transferees, collection of fees and a few on the K-to-12 issue,” Asec Mateo told Radyo Inquirer early Wednesday.

Mateo, who heads the Balik Eskwela Program of DeEd, also discussed solutions on the congestion of students due to lack of classrooms and the shifts on classes to accommodate the volume of enrolees.

He also tackled storm warnings that affect classes.
