Typhoon Bising heading out; Batanes under wind signal No. 1 — Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 was hoisted over Batanes as Typhoon Bising (international name: Danas) accelerates northeastward towards Taiwan on Sunday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In its 5 p.m. bulletin, Pagasa said that the center of Bising was located 335 kilometers west northwest of Itbayat in Batanes outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).
Bising is packing maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour (kph) with gustiness of up to 160 kph. It is presently moving northeastward at 15 kph.

“BISING is forecast to move northeastward over the next 36 hours and may enter the northwestern boundary of PAR tonight. It will exit the northern boundary of PAR by tomorrow (07 July) morning,” said Pagasa.
It added that Bising will steadily intensify over the next 12 hours while its weakening trend is expected over the East China Sea due to unfavorable conditions.
“It may weaken into a remnant low by Thursday (10 July) as it interacts with the landmass of China,” it added.
Pagasa also warned that minimal to minor threats to life and property from strong winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 1.
It added that 39 to 61 kph of wind speeds are expected under this wind signal.
Further, Pagasa said that Bising and the southwest monsoon will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas.
