“This does not have a direct impact on our country, nor do we have a wind signal raised, although we still expect the clouds it brings to cause rain, particularly in parts of Batanes and even the Babuyan Group of Islands,” weather specialist Obet Badrina said.
He added that a gale warning was raised over Batanes due to the trough or extension of the severe tropical storm.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon, or habagat, continues to bring rain to the western parts of the country, particularly the following areas:
- Ilocos Region
- Bataan
- Zambales
- Metro Manila
- The rest of Central Luzon
- Calabarzon
- Mimaropa
- Negros Island Region
- Barmm
- Zamboanga Peninsula
For the rest of the country, Badrina said isolated rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail from afternoon until evening./mcm
