Macacua declines courtesy resignations of 6 BARMM execs

MANILA, Philippines — Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua has declined the courtesy resignations tendered by six members of his Cabinet in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
In a statement on Saturday, the Bangsamoro government spokesperson said that Macacua did not accept the courtesy resignations of the following:
1. Minister Akmad Brahim, Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Energy
2. Minister Atty. Ubaida Pacasem, Ministry of Finance, and Budget and Management
3. Minister Dr. Khadil Sinolinding Jr, Ministry of Health
4. Minister Muslimin Sema, Ministry of Labor and Employment
5. Minister Atty. Raissa Jajurie, Ministry of Social Services and Development
6. Deputy Minister and Acting Minister Jehan Usop, Ministry of Science and Technology

According to the spokesperson of the BARMM government, the chief minister’s decision “was guided by clear criteria to determine competence, experience, overall physical fitness, and above all, adherence to the Moral Governance Agenda.”
“These standards enabled the Chief Minister to make informed and objective decisions which are deemed necessary to uphold the effectiveness and efficiency of our services as we approach the end of the transitionn period,” the statement said.

It added that “careful deliberations are still ongoing for the remaining ministries and offices.”
“In the meantime, the ministers and heads of offices not mentioned above are enjoined to continue performing their limited functions until final decisions are made regarding their respective courtesy resignations,” saidnthe BARMM government.
It was in June when Macacua issued a memorandum ordering all ministers,ndeputy ministers, and heads of offices to tender courtesy resignations “in light of serious and grave complaints” brought before him. The chief minister did not mention what these were about. /das
