Manila drug sting yields P6.8-M shabu; nabs 2 alleged peddlers

MANILA, Philippines — Suspected shabu (crystal meth) valued at P6.8 million was seized, and two individuals were arrested in Manila, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
The confiscation and arrests resulted from a buy-bust operation on Friday in Barangay 478, Sampaloc, PDEA noted in a statement on Saturday.
A kilogram of suspected shabu was recovered from the suspects, according to the agency.

It further detailed that the suspects were “Yuan,” 21, and “Ellaine,” 35, both residents of Sampaloc.
Both are now detained at the PDEA detention facility, awaiting charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Dangerous Drugs Act. /jpv
