3 couriers arrested for stealing delivery parcels in Antipolo City

MANILA, Philippines — Three deliverymen were arrested for allegedly stealing from their deliveries in Antipolo City, police said.

The arrests came after the auditor of the concerned delivery company discovered, through closed-circuit television footage, that the packages went missing and filed a report with the city police last Monday morning, the Rizal Provincial Police Office said in a statement on Tuesday.

Police identified the deliverymen as “Jude,” “Carl,” and “Elise.”

“They took the products to a private residence in Barangay Santa Cruz, Antipolo City without the corresponding delivery receipt or document,” the Rizal Provincial Police Office explained in Filipino.

Authorities traced them to the said residence, arrested the suspects, and recovered five boxes of products valued at P15,539.81 from the concerned company.

The three suspects were taken into the custody of the Antipolo City Police Station and are awaiting charges for qualified theft. /jpv
