3 armed drug suspects nabbed in Batangas

Three alleged armed drug pushers were arrested in Batangas province on Tuesday and Wednesday (July 1 and 2), police said.

LUCENA CITY — Three alleged armed drug pushers were arrested in Batangas province on Tuesday and Wednesday (July 1 and 2), police said.

According to the Region 4A police, the drug enforcement unit in Lipa City apprehended suspects identified as “Billy” and “Adonis” after they sold P1,500 worth of shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover officer in Barangay Anilao Proper at 4:05 p.m. on Tuesday.

Authorities said the suspects were found in possession of two heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing 9.70 grams, with a Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of approximately P65,960.

The suspects were also carrying an undocumented .9mm pistol loaded with five bullets.

A Toyota Corolla sedan, believed to have been used in the suspects’ illegal drug activities, was also seized, along with a mobile phone that will be examined for potential records of drug transactions.

Police identified both individuals as street-level drug pushers in the area.

Meanwhile, in Tanauan City, police arrested another suspect, “Randy,” during a drug sting operation in Barangay Bañadero at 2:20 a.m. on Wednesday.

The suspect, also categorized as a street-level pusher, was allegedly found in possession of one sachet of suspected shabu worth P34,000 and an unlicensed .38 caliber revolver with ammunition.

All three suspects are currently in police custody and will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and for illegal possession of firearms.  /jpv
