Linguistics professor Maria Clara Ravina died on June 24 at the age of 80.
A pioneer in Applied Linguistics in English studies, Ravina taught at the University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas and Philippine Normal University.
She was the widow of Colonel Ernesto Ravina Sr., mother to the late Roberto and Victor, Colonel Ernesto Jr., Anna Marie and Maria Theresa, and sister to Purificacion Quisumbing.
Her remains lie at St. Ignatius Chapel, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City. The necrological service will be held on July 3 at 6 p.m. Cremation is on July 4.
