MANILA, Philippines – At least 500 pedestrians were apprehended Tuesday by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in its intensified campaign against jaywalking, an official told Radyo Inquirer on Wednesday.
Many of those apprehended, MMDA General Manager Corazon Jimenez said, opted to undergo 15-minute on-the-spot disaster preparedness seminar, instead of paying a fine of P200.
