IM Nolte downs FM Bersamina

INTERNATIONAL MASTER Rolando Nolte subdued Fide Master Paolo Bersamina to forge a 12-way tie on top after two rounds in the  2012 National Open chess championship yesterday at the  Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) canteen in Vito Cruz, Manila.

Nolte improved his score to 2.0 points and share the lead with IM Richilieu Salcedo,  IM Oliver Dimakiling, IM Emmanuel Senador, FM Roderick Nava, FM Haridas Pascua, FM Adrian Ros Pacis, FM Deniel Causo, NM Alex Milagrosa, NM Alcon John Datu, Ben Polao and Rhobel Legaspi.

In the women’s play, Mary Grace Tambasen waylaid Akiko Charmaine Suede to join Shanie Mae Mendoza and Jean Karen Enriquez in the lead  with 2.0 points each.
