The low pressure area spotted a few days ago off Mindanao has dissipated, promising sunnier weather all over the country Wednesday.
Weather forecaster Raymond Ordinario of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said, “As of Tuesday morning, it has dissipated. We expect improved weather in Mindanao.”
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, which experienced downpours from the southwest monsoon that was enhanced by Typhoon “Ambo” last week, will also see fairer weather. Pagasa said the western section of Luzon, which includes the capital, will see monsoon rains in the afternoon or early evening.
So far, Pagasa has not spotted any other LPA that could develop into a tropical cyclone, Ordinario said.
Ordinario said those who want to see the transit of Venus, a rare celestial phenomenon where the planet will be seen as a blot on the sun, might have an opportunity to do so.
He noted that they do not expect widespread rains in Luzon, although skies might be overcast in many places. The Visayas will have mostly cloudy skies and scattered rainshowers. Parts of Mindanao will experience isolated rainshowers, said Pagasa. Kristine L. Alave
