MANILA, Philippines — Speaker Martin Romualdez said the full force of the law will be brought down on the remaining suspects at large in the killing of a House of Representatives official, following the arrest of two individuals linked to the killing.
Romualdez also welcomed the apprehension of two suspects in the killing of Director Mauricio Pulhin, chief of technical staff at the House Committee on Ways and Means. He called the arrests a “critical step in the pursuit of justice.”
The suspects, identified as “Balong” and “Jason,” were arrested in separate operations on Monday in Caloocan City and Quezon City, respectively.

“This is a promising development in our search for justice. But this fight is far from over. We will not rest until every person involved — whether gunman, accomplice, or mastermind — is held to account,” Romualdez said.
Pulhin was shot during his daughter’s birthday celebration on June 15 in Quezon City.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported the arrest of two suspects on Tuesday, following a review of CCTV footage.
The PNP said the four remaining suspects at large include a live-in couple believed to be the masterminds, their assistant identified as “Christian,” and the gunman.
Romualdez urged the National Bureau of Investigation and other law enforcement agencies “to intensify efforts to capture the four remaining suspects.”
“This was not only a heinous crime but a betrayal of decency. Morie was a respected public servant and a devoted family man. He deserved none of this. We will not rest until justice is fully served,” he said.
“To those still in hiding, the law will find you. This is not just about one man’s murder. It is about protecting every public servant who works with integrity and who deserves to live without fear,” he added./mcm
