LRT-2 operations delayed due to technical problem

MANILA, Philippines — Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) operations were delayed Wednesday due to a technical problem.
In its advisory issued around 7 a.m., the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced that LRT-2 is currently operating under a provisional service.
“The train is operating from Recto Station to Araneta Center-Cubao Station and back,” the LRTA added.
The LRTA told INQUIRER.net that trains began operating on a limited capacity from Recto Station to Araneta Center-Cubao Station at 6:45 a.m., but it has yet to announce when full operations on the LRT-2 line will resume.

As of this writing, the LRTA has yet to provide details on the exact cause of the technical problem.
The LRTA apologized to commuters and appealed for their understanding and cooperation.
“Stay tuned to our social media pages for further updates,” it added.
Free rides
To assist affected passengers, the LRTA deployed shuttle services at the Antipolo, Marikina-Pasig, Santolan, Katipunan, and Anonas stations, offering free rides to the Araneta Center-Cubao station.
The agency also announced that LRT-2 will provide free rides from Wednesday until Thursday, June 26./mcm
