MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck the waters off Mindanao on Tuesday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Phivolcs initially reported the tremor to be magnitude 6.4.
The agency also said the tremor struck at 9:58 a.m., with the epicenter located 341 kilometers (km) east of Baganga, Davao Oriental.
The earthquake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of focus of 34 km, the agency added.
State seismologists warned of possible aftershocks and released a list of reported intensities across the affected areas.
